Another floor from our work. It needs grout and cleaning, but it adds a lot of light to the room. I’m doing trim in the bedroom today and probably painting the living room. The last floors will be the closets in the bedroom. I haven’t actually posted pics of the Laundry room floor.
I made this box for a friend while we watched Doctor Who recordings the other night. The designs are burned in, then I stained it.
I needed a few minutes break while my saw battery charged so I did a picture in GIMP
this is a small house or lounge built into a tube or giant pipe. I have considered doing this myself before, had no way to get the pipe home though.
The floor is copper, used the idea I found the other day of a penny floor.
And found something a minute ago related to the Little Free Libraries I posted before.
This is a Kinetic Sculpture Little Free Library in Minneapolis. Reminds me of the World Fair building.
My stone floor, all done except for sealing. I avoided showing the rest of the room, haven’t finished the trim yet and I’m packing in that room. This is our new bedroom floor. I laid the tile in one day, first time ever laying tile. It uses at least 15 types of tile, different colors, patterns, materials, and thicknesses. I had to change mortar part way through because we misjudged the amount and the store only had one type left. I learned a lot doing this floor and am quite pleased with it. I grouted it a couple days later and will seal it soon.
I would love this in more of the house, though I found a really neat idea for our red kitchen the other day using pennies.
House will be ready to rent soon.
Well, we have been working madly to remodel the house before we move. We have a little over a week and lots to do. I put in a shattered tile mosaic floor in the bedroom, and will be doing class tile in the bathroom. The former laundry room has new red fence walls, and the new laundry room isn’t started yet. I will post pictures as I finish and get them. They are creative and they were a lot of work so they fit even if they were frequently more than a day. Though given our schedule, most weren’t actually.
On an unrelated note, I found something really neat today. I would very much put one of these tiny libraries on the property if I were staying here. As it is, I am looking for partners to help install and act as stewards in as many places as I can. I will try to help find funding and people to build them. We shall see, I really like this idea.
Okay, finally am back into my account.
Life has been chaotic and stressed and I have let it interfere with my project.
I will try to get back to it better this week, however, my plan is to restart the project and re-evaluate my goals after my move in a couple of weeks. I would restart this week but know I will lose connection and access to my stuff in traveling back to Hawaii.
I am upset I let life interfere with my project and goals, but am not going to let it stop me, just put a reset on the timing.
I may change the focus some or not when I set in my home there, I am not in a frame of mind to make that decision right now.
This is one of 3 collections I made this week of other people’s and companies works. Some of these are absurdly expensive, others are instructables you can make. I present Steampunk pens. this is really mostly a set of clockwork, geared, or similar pens, I did not go into other Steampunk ideas on it yet.
